Everett L. Butler, B.S.E.E (Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering)
Everett L. Butler,  of Mountain House, CA has recently been named as Director of Community Youth Outreach programs within Magnolia’s Construction and Engineering, Oakland, CA. As Director, his responsibilities include outfitting community programs for underrepresented and underserved Minority Youth with the tools to succeed toward their path to an engineering/STEM education.

In 2010, Everett launched his consulting firm with the hopes of tutoring and facilitating the growth and development of our minority youth through mentorship, and lifestyle development.

Everett’s community peer background spans over decades when he gained an interest in community peer teaching while attending Madison Junior High, Oakland, CA. His passion continued throughout his time at Castlemont High School, Oakland, and the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA (UOP).

During his time at Madison Junior High School and Castlemont High School, Everett became a member of APT Peer Teaching offered by the University of California, Berkeley. The APT Peer teaching model is an information-based teaching model which includes Assessment, Pedagogy, and Technology. It can and has been used to improve students' learning initiative and their autonomous learning ability. Everett’s membership involvement also included active participation within MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) and the Upward Bound and Biomedical Programs. Everett has always had a propensity to excel in math and science. He went on to graduate as Madison Junior High School’s Salutatorian along with winning Madison’s coveted “Best Math Student” Award. In high school,  Everett was ranked 4th amongst 449 within Castlemont’s 1981 High School Senior class. He later went on to win the “Mary McKinney All-Around Student” Award. Upon, high school graduation, Everett attended the University of the Pacific (UOP) where he acquired his Baccalaureate of Science degree in Management/Electrical Engineering. As a UOP electrical engineering/management graduate, Everett was taught critical thinking techniques along with management oversight elements which have been actively used across his 34+ year career within the Department of Defense (DoD).

During his tenure, Everett has worked for various agencies such as the Department of the Navy, Air Force, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). He has attained specialized experience in aerospace and electronics engineering, electronic warfare development, satellite communication, radar systems, earned value management, supply chain management, contract administration, quality assurance, nondestructive testing, systems acquisition, engineering surveillance, and contract management. Over the span of his professional DoD career, Everett has held the roles of Aerospace Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Industrial Engineer, respectively.

Throughout his 34+ year career, Everett had continued to receive accolades, accommodations, and awards, namely for advocacy in the U.C. Davis Women's Minority Engineering program, the Cal State Sacramento Academic Talent Search, Big Brother, and various other community outreach programs; all in the effort of promoting diversity in the engineering ranks while securing the protection of the warfighter and our National Security.
With over 34 years of engineering and management oversight experience, Everett has been instrumental in working with far-reaching enterprises which have given him a global perspective for solidifying team relationships in evolving environments.

In December 2019, Everett retired from Lockheed Martin, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA. As an Industrial Engineer, Everett’s responsibilities included maintaining the entire Supply Chain for Lockheed Martin’s Satellite and Fleet Ballistic Programs. His technical expertise was used to support mission mandates internationally while helping to manage and facilitate cost control for all DCMA acquisition decisions worldwide.

Everett is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to take on the new role as Community Youth Outreach Director supporting Oakland’s Unified School District (OUSD) from within Magnolia Construction and Engineering. His ultimate goal is to continue efforts in providing minority (Black, Indigenous, and Persons Of Color (BIPOC) youth the tools needed to bridge the gap between their STEM education and engineering corporate opportunities. This will ultimately assist in making an easier transition from STEM education to corporate society.
